This is better suited to the recruiting section but I don't think people would see it there since we don't normally post there...


Is there a site devoted to tennisrecruiting like Rivals.com is for FB and BB?

At the least, we should be able to grab and post the top juniors rankings by state from the USTA DB.  I don't know what rules there are on commenting on players, but I don't think there are any limitations as long as you are not a coach.

tennisrecruiting.net is a good site.  They don't take injury or illness defaults into their rankings, so a player can avoid a bad loss by not playing a match or tournament. This is a weakness in their system.  Also only changing the stars once a year makes it a slight misleading look at some kids.

also tennisrecruiting.net does not take into account doubles results, which is a big factor in college tennis

from my interactions with Tennisrecruiting.net, I found that players in the top 3 tennis states, California, Texas, and Florida, have a harder time getting thier "stars up". It seems that it is almost "easier" for players not in these states to get higher "rankings" from this site. What do you guys think?

i think that this is very possible, but another way to look at it is that it could possibly be easier...the players from these 3 states are consistently playing against better and higher ranked players, giving them more chances to have big wins and boost their ranking

They should account for the level of competition in their rankings.  Thanks for the info!  I will check out the site.

tennisrecruiting.net is a great website. However I agree with northern Pride that the players from those states seem to play much tougher competition compared to most states and there is more parody b/w the players in those sections. It also does not help that they do not seem to update to "stars" very much, I think once a year. With so many players though, I do not see how they would be able to update them more often.

 Really good site that has changed college tennis for the better

Good news is expected from three employment reports out this week. The key report will come Friday, an hour before the New York Stock Exchange opens, but already optimism about the number of jobs created in May seems to be the rule on Wall Street.

There are generally two types of recruiters: Corporate & Placement Agency (aka 'headhunters'). The corp recruiter does the general hiring for a company or division of a company. A headhunter works independently or for an outside firm and recruits in place of or in addition to a corp recruiter.

A corp recruiter takes job requisitions, sources, takes in resumes and typically does an initial screening. They may also do in-person interviews, depending on the needs & size of the organization. The hiring manager typically does a final interview. Recruiters also attend job fairs and maintain relationships with colleges, trade schools, etc.

The title "Representative" should give you an idea of where it fits in the Corp HR hierarchy. A recruiting manager would be a level up, then a Director level job would be next.
